  4. I  will not  be  held  responsible for any damages actual, or incidental that
  5. might result from use of the ALERT program.  The program is tendered "as is",
  6. with no guarantees being given for any explicit or implied benefits.

  8. As it happens, I have taken all reasonable care to prevent ALERT from causing
  9. "burn in" or other  damage to a VGA monitor.    The graphics use the standard
  10. Borland BGI (tm)  libraries and the    continual  shift in text position  and
  11. colors should preclude bad effects.   Nevertheless,  no one is perfect and no
  12. program is bug-free,  so as always the user  must ultimately  be  responsible
  13. for his (her) equipment.

  15. Likewise, I make no representation that ALERT will prevent a burglary or stop
  16. one in progress.    I submit,  however, that it is an interesting approach to
  17. the problem.
